While both Nightingale and Goodall have achieved much 'good' in the world (as the electroliquid quote attempted to convey), their views or focus on achieving peace are very different. Nightingale's space is a complete contrast to the airiness of Goodall's space to reflect her achievements on the more service-orientated and systematic side of humanity, a compassion for order in human activities rather than on the curious relationship between chimpanzees and man. Here is an empty, contemplative almost temple like space aimed at 'creating' Nightingale's determined and almost stoic character. This would be the kind of space where someone could wonder about humanity and its achievements.
The darkness of Nightingale's space is aimed at generating an existential and lonely experience (that surely must have been felt by Nightingale during her services which never ceased until her death), giving only glimpses of certain textures and shapes; hopefully in entering this space, one could grow lost in the enormity of the nothingness.
